The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is the Canadian Executing Agency for the Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project, which is funded by the Government of Canada’s Department of Global Affairs.
CBIE is an umbrella non-governmental organization comprised of 200 colleges, universities, schools, school boards, educational organizations and businesses across Canada. CBIE is the only Canadian organization exclusively dedicated to international education, the free movement of ideas and learners across national boundaries.
Nationally, CBIE is both a leader in shaping Canada’s international education agenda and a highly recognized provider of professional development programs for Canada’s international educators. Through its work in the areas of policy development, research, advocacy and public information, CBIE maintains its dedication to keeping international education on the agenda of Canada’s political and academic leaders, and to forging academic links of value to Canada with individuals, organizations and institutions across the globe.
Internationally, CBIE engages in cooperative projects in capacity building, institutional strengthening and human resource development in partnerships with educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and governments in Central and Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Through its national and international work, CBIE has developed a leading expertise in learning solutions in education and training; scholarships programs (international and domestic); public sector reform and peace and human security initiatives; research services; and civil society development. CBIE’s multilingual staff offers clients a combination of practical field experience and advanced education in public sector reform as well as a personal commitment to international development.
