On 6-8 December 2016, with the support of the Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project a working meeting of the management of the legal aid system was held to discuss the issues of medium-term activity planning. Directors of regional and local FSLA centres and the team of the Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision took part in the event.
On 26-27 November, experts of the Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project Ivanna Ibragimova and Oleksandra Tselishcheva held a workshop on strategic planning for managers of stand-alone divisions of the NGO “All-Ukrainian Association of Lawyers Providing Free Legal Aid”.

On November 10, a lawyer professional growth programme “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” started in Ukraine and a competition for the selection of its participants was announced.
On 20-21 October 2016, international conference “Strengthening Community Legal Capacities” took place, jointly organized by the project Quality and accessible legal aid in Ukraine funded by the Government of Canada and implemented by the Canadian Bureau for International Education, the International Renaissance Foundation, and the Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision. Experts from Ukraine and other countries of the world discussed the community experience in protection of their rights and upholding their interests.
On 25 October, conference “Efficient monitoring — a way to improve access to legal aid” was held with the aim of discussing the implementation of the project “How accessible is the legal aid to citizens?”, which is being implemented by the NGO “Rivne Federation of Small and Medium Business “Unity” (“Yednist”) with the support from the project Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine, implemented by the Canadian Bureau for International Education supported by the Government of Canada and programme initiative Human Rights and Justice of the International Renaissance Foundation.
Communication specialists and integrators told, during a two-day training in the capital, about strategic communication planning of the legal aid system, communication goals and interaction with different stakeholders, formation of messages for them, “uniting communications” in the system.
On 10 and 11 October 2016, the second meeting of the working group for development of the model programme on the provision of legal aid (hereinafter — the model programme) and methodological recommendation for bodies of local self-government (hereinafter — the methodological recommendations) was held in the capital. The event was organized by the Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision with the support of the Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project and Human Rights and Justice programme initiative of the International Renaissance Foundation.
