On 25 October, conference “Efficient monitoring — a way to improve access to legal aid” was held with the aim of discussing the implementation of the project “How accessible is the legal aid to citizens?”, which is being implemented by the NGO “Rivne Federation of Small and Medium Business “Unity” (“Yednist”) with the support from the project Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine, implemented by the Canadian Bureau for International Education supported by the Government of Canada and programme initiative Human Rights and Justice of the International Renaissance Foundation.
During the event, results of the test version of the Internet-portal operation were presented, as well as an overview of the software package, which was developed within the framework of the project and targeted at the enhancement and monitoring of the quality of the Regional Center for Secondary Legal Aid in Rivne region; further steps for improving the quality and accessibility of legal aid in the city of Rivne and Rivne region were discussed.
Canadian and Ukrainian project representatives — Tetiana Wojtan, Pauline Rankin, Linda Pruchnicky, and Alina Hladka — took part in the presentation.
Based on the conference results, the resolution on the following steps and cooperation will be adopted to ensure quality legal aid in the region.
