
On 3 August, inception training workshops for newly-appointed staff of legal aid bureaus started in the regions. The events are aimed at collective discussion of the immediate steps to be taken for the organization of the work of the bureaus on the eve of their opening on 1 September this year, and main tasks faced by the newly appointed staff and their colleagues from the centers in the regions.
Regional inception workshops are organized jointly by the local and regional free secondary legal aid centers with the participation of representatives of the Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision with the support of the Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project. In their course, participants will have an opportunity to discuss the mission and vision of the legal aid provision, the values that are professed by its team.
Events will be held in 24 regions till mid-August 2016.
Today, the first workshops take place in Uzhhorod, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.

It should be recalled that during April 4 – July 15 this year an open competitive selection for the positions of heads/deputy heads of legal aid bureaus was taking place, which resulted in 915 people being recommended for the mentioned positions. In addition, 483 competition participants were recommended by the competition commissions to be appointed for other positions at the bureaus. The appointment process for the positions at the bureaus, carried out by the directors of the respective local FSLA centers, is currently underway*.
